Fourth St Median Modification Safety Project
6/20/2025 - 9:35am-10:30am
Before 2023, in Pinellas County, Florida, US 92/4th Street North from 30th Avenue North to 94th Avenue North was an Urban Other Principal Arterial with sixty-two median openings that were on average 350 feet apart which did not satisfy acceptable safety standards. The corridor had a significant number of full median openings, especially for a street whose primary function should provide mobility, instead of local access. In 2016, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Seven office conducted an access management safety study to determine what appropriate safety and mobility improvements were needed, leading to the median safety project. This presentation will provide the story from beginning to end and evaluation of the project.
