After graduating from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1998, Maj Alam emigrated to the USA to earn a higher education degree in the field of Civil Engineering. After obtaining a Master of Engineering degree from Tennessee State University, he began his career in Environmental Engineering design; however, he found that his great passion lies in Highway Design. Maj has over 24 years of experience in the planning, design and management of complex, major, and minor highway and bridge projects. He has managed 34 FDOT projects and served in 24 FDOT project as EOR. He has proven design-build experience on various transportation improvement projects, and he has received two (2) industry awards for the I-75 at Miramar design-build project. Maj Alam is the founder and president of Propel Engineering and has successfully managed the company’s growth since its inception in 2015, from just one (1) person to 12+ employees. Propel Engineering is a recognized and respected engineering firm with strong growth prospects that has delivered numerous successful FDOT projects.
