Maria Jaimes is the Rail Coordinator at OMD Rail and has been with the Florida Department of Transporation for 3 years. . Maria holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University and is pursuing her Master’s in Engineering Management. She has been a reservist with the Army National Guard for the past 12 years. Her logistics experience within the military has propelled her to pursue a career with the Department. She started her FDOT career as the MPO Liaison for Broward MPO and Indian River MPO where she represented the Department in multiple Committee meetings and facilitated updating and amending multiple MPO documents and agreements while ensuring that federal requirements are met. As the District Rail Coordinator, Maria manages the Rail Crossing Rehabilitation Program for District 4. In addition, she coordinates with Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) on FDOT projects with rail involvement. She is heading the effort in the Grade Crossing Consolidation Process, which includes identifying crossings for Grade Separations and/or Crossing Eliminations in coordination with Central Office, Municipalities, and MPOs/TPOs/TPAs.
