Sue Zheng is a civil engineer with more than 20 years of experience in Materials Science and Civil Engineering. Since November 2022, she has led the Florida Department of Transportation's Office of Materials as Director, where she oversees statewide materials engineering programs. Her extensive career at FDOT also includes serving as the District Materials and Research Engineer for the Florida Turnpike Enterprise, where she advanced research initiatives and material standards. Prior to her work with FDOT, Sue was an Adjunct Professor at Florida Atlantic University, where she taught Civil Engineering Materials and mentored future engineers. She holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
